Overview

The film's great success led Nordisk Film Kompagni to shortly afterwards make an almost identical scene-for-scene plagiarism, which they even gave the same title: The White Slave Trade . Fotorama threatened legal action and launched a newspaper campaign against Nordisk Film. However, the disagreements were resolved in a settlement outside the courtroom. Ironically, this original version has been lost, while Nordisk Film's plagiarism has been preserved.
